Stittsville beats Kars 5-4
In Wednesday night action in the Greater Ottawa Fastball League at the Grove, the Stittsville 56ers won in the bottom of the seventh 5-4 over the Kars Aces.
Darren Featherstone earned the pitching win, while Cory Alkerton took the loss.
Kars got of to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first. Chad Milne hit a two-run homer, cashing Cory Alkerton who had walked, and Matt Alkerton followed as the next batter hitting a solo shot.
Stittsville came back to go ahead 4-3, but in the top of the seventh, Danny Powers singled to lead off. With one out, Power moved to second on a ground out. Then Nick Ellis ripped a double down the line to tie the game at four.
Ben Gigliotti earned himself the nod as Caveman's Choice as player of the game when he hit a walk off RBI single for the win for the 56ers.
