Micksburg defeats West Carleton 6-0

The Micksburg Twins beat the West Carleton Electric in Greater Ottawa Fastball League Championship Round play on Wednesday night in Micksburg in front of a good crowd and the Cogeco TV cameras.

Corey Costello started and got the win for the Twins, with Joran Graham pitching three innings in relief. Andy Barber went the distance for WC.

Andrew McIntrye started the game for the home team with a walk, took second and third on wild pitches and scored on Jamey Mick's bloop single.

The Twins got two in the second. Matt McIntyre doubled and scored on Scott Conroy's single. Conroy moved to second on the throw to the plate, moved up 60 feet on a wild pitch and scored on another RBI single by Mick.

Micksburg pushed the lead to 5-0 in the fifth. Mick reached on a misplayed fly ball and scored on a home run from Graham that bounced off the top of the fence in dead centre and went over.

A solo homer by Mick in the sixth capped the scoring at 6-0.

Micksburg will host the Kars Aces at 8 pm on Thursday in next round, while West Carleton will travel to Quyon to play the Flyers on Thursday at 8 pm.
