Westport Storm U16 team wins Provincial B title
The Westport Storm U16 boys rep team won the Ontario Amateur Softball Association Provincial "B" title this weekend, going 4-1 to win the nine-team event.
The Storm won games against Grafton Jays, Tavistock As and Springbrook Royals to go the final game undefeated. The Royals came up the losers' side and beat the Storm in the first game of the final 8-4. However, Westport won the "if necessary" game 13-2 to take the title.
The Storm have players primarily from the Westport / Kingston area, with two players from West Carleton and another from Eganville.
Napanee Express won the Provincial "A" title, winning an eight-team tournament.
