Aces beat Brewers in tight game
The Kars Aces got by the Manotick Brewers 2-1 in the late game in Manotick on Wednesday night Greater Ottawa Fastball League action.
It was a well played game of fastpitch softball with Brad Porter earning the win and Luc D'Entremont taking the loss.
Jeremy Malloy put the Brewers on the board with a solo shot in the third inning.
Kars responded with a run in the sixth when Cory Morrison's double drove in Cory Alkerton from second who had walked earlier. Dylan Toms tried to score from first on the play but was thrown out at home.
Matt Alkerton's solo shot in the top of the seventh proved to be the game winner for the Aces.
The Aces lead the league with a 7-2 record and have their final game against the Valley As next Thursday in Carp at 7 p.m.
The Brewers record stands at 5-4. Their last regular season game is against West Carleton Electric on Wednesday in Manotick at 8 p.m.
