Saturday softball in Carp (GOFL, OIWFA)

Plans are for five fastball games to be played Saturday in Carp at the fairgrounds, with both diamonds on the go during the afternoon.

The University of Ottawa GeeGees women's fastpitch softball team will be playing on Diamond #1, with their scheduled Ontario Intercollegiate Women’s Fastpitch Association games against Queen's University Gaels taking place at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Ottawa is currently second place in the East division at 6-1, behind the undefeated University of Toronto. On Diamond #2, the Greater Ottawa Fastball League playoffs will continue with three games scheduled. Playoff Game 5 between West Carleton Electric and Kars Aces will start at 3 p.m. The loser of that game will be eliminated.

At 5 p.m., the two undefeated teams will faceoff in Playoff Game 7 - Orleans Rebels and the Micksburg Twins. The winner goes directly to the Final with the other team going to the loser side of the bracket.

The late game at 7 p.m. has the Ottawa Valley As against the Manotick Brewers in Playoff Game 6, again with the loser of that game being eliminated. 

The follow up games in the GOFL playoff double knockout bracket, with dates and locations yet to be determined will feature the following:

Game 8: Loser Game 5 vs Loser Game 6
Game 9: Winner Game 8 vs Loser Game 7
FINAL: Winner Game 9 vs Winner Game 7 (single game final)
