Niagara Stompers 2-1 at Men's Nationals
The Niagara Stompers have two wins and one loss at the Softball Canada Men's national championship in St. John's, NL. They lost 7-0 to the defending champions Galway from Newfoundland, defeated The Bigs from Newfoundland 11-0 and beat Saskatoon 9-2.
There are 12 teams at the event, in two pools. The Stompers need to finish fourth or higher in their pool to advance to the championship round over the weekend.
Today's games for Niagara are against the Toronto Batmen and the Peguis, MB Redmen.
There are four Greater Ottawa Fastball League players on the Stompers: Matt Greer (Quyon), Joran Graham (Micksburg), Brad Pender, and Gregg Garrity (both Kars).
