Kars and Orleans advance

The Kars Aces and Orleans Rebels advanced to the Greater Ottawa Fastball League semi-finals on Wednesday night, winning their best of three series 2-0

In Manotick, the game picked up from the suspended game last week with the Aces up 9-8 over the Manotick Brewers in the sixth.  The Aces scored another two and won 11-8. Brad Porter had started the game last week, had relief from Cory Alkerton, then completed the game for the win. Carley Shane took the loss for the Brewers.

In Fitzroy Harbour, the game continued from the top of the third with West Carleton Electric up 4-1 over Orleans in the top of the third. Orleans scored two in the third, with WC responding with one to make it 5-3. A five run inning for the Rebels in the fifth, capitalizing on some errors allowed them to take the lead, which they kept to win 11-7. Andy Barber had the win while Ben Broek took the loss. Broek and Conner Hopper had homers for WC last week as did Jefferson Román for Orleans.

Micksburg Twins have a bye to the semi-finals.

The next best of three semi-final series opponents will be determined by the result of the Quyon Flyers - Osgoode Chiefs series which the Flyers lead by one game. The next game is anticipated to be played early next week.
