Trappers win North Leeds title
The North Augusta Trappers won the North Leeds Men's Fastball League playoff title at home with a 10-0 win over the Westport Lumberjacks in the deciding Game 3 of the Finals on Thursday night.
A good crowd was on hand at the "Cabin" to watch the Trappers take the championship.
Cory Alkerton had the shutout win over five innings, striking out nine and allowing three hits. Thomas McLean took the loss and had relief from Martin Mauveil and Brock Seed.
North Augusta scored six runs in the first on walks, errors, and a single to take an early lead at they would not relinquish.
The Trappers had four hits: Jamie Finucan with two singles, Mike Conlin a solo homerun in the fourth and Jordie Finucan had a two RBI single in the bottom of the fifth to put the run rule in effect.
Westport's three hits were doubles by Tyler Robinson and Adam Raison, and a single from Evan Rice.

The North Leeds Men's Fastball League is an eight-team travel loop that generally plays on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
