Lyn Lightning wins Glen Tournament

The Lyn Lightning won five straight games to take the A Final title at the Glen Cairn Men's Fastball League tournament in Carp on the weekend.

After finishing the round robin undefeated they beat Corfix in the semi-finals, then beat Fitzroy Team Red 12-7 in the final game.

Carley Shane and Andrew Fortier pitched for Lyn in the final while Adam Rueckwald and Cole Ross threw for Fitzroy. Tyler Branchaud, Jeff McNish and Ryan Clare had homers for Lyn while Rueckwald hit one out for Fitzroy.

Fitzroy had also finished the round robin undefeated and got by PJMP Pigeons from Quebec in the semi-final. 

The Champs were made up of players from the Lyn team in the North Leeds Men's Fastball League and Manotick Brewers of the Greater Ottawa Fastball League.  Fitzroy Team Red had players from the Fitzroy Harbour Men's Fastball League and the Carp Men's Fastball League.

The B side Consolation Final was won by the Rogues of the Blackburn league by a score of 11-1 over Kaladar Kings U20. Derick Bulley earned the pitching win. Jeremy Regan had a grand slam and Doug Cranston a homer, both for thr Rogues.
