Twins edge Trics

The Micksburg Twins beat West Carleton Electric 10-9 in Greater Ottawa Fastball League play in Carp on Thursday night.

Noah Fleurie had the win striking out seven, while Adam Rueckwald took the loss striking out four.

Twins got one in the first - Andy McIntyre singled, moved on a wild pitch and passed ball and scored on Joran Graham's ground out.

WC responded with two in the bottom of the first. Colton Lecuyer and Trevor Barton both walked. Lecuyer scored on a Dylan Rorwick ground out and Barton scored on Conner Hopper's infield single.

Trics added another run on the second. Owen Brown singled and scored on Lecuyer's triple.

Micksburg put up four in the third. Graham's three run shot scored Nolan Rook who had singled and Andy McIntyre who walked. Later in the inning Scott Conroy drove in Jared Steege who had singled.

The home team responded with three to tale a 6-5 lead. Rorwick singled, scored on a Hopper triple. Hop plated on Chris Costello's double, and Costello scored on a Neil Murphy single. 

Matt McIntyre's two run homer (scoring cousin Andy who had singled) to put the Twins back in the lead in the fourth.

The Twins pushed the lead to 8-6 on a Fleurie sacrifice fly which scored Steege.

Micksburg added runs to make the lead 10-6 in the top of the seventh on a Fleurie homer which scored Steege.

West Carleton mounted a comeback in the seventh but fell just short. Lecuyer walked, took second on a wild pitch, and scored on Rorwick's single. Hopper then singled prior to a two run scoring triple by Finn Barton. However, Fleurie got out of the jam with two strikeouts to end the game.
