WC takes game one
West Carleton Electric won the first game of their first round best-of-three Greater Ottawa Fastball League playoff series over Los Caballos 7-3 in Carp on Thursday night.
Adam Rueckwald (8H, 8K, 1HBP) earned the win while Will Lowe (11H, 6K, 4BB) took the loss.
Los Caballos scored all their runs in the top of the first. Wilmer Lovera and Pedro Lopez both singled with two out and scored on a three-run size large homer by Fredyan Carpio.
The Electric responded right away with four in the bottom of the opening frame. Colton Lecuyer tripled and scored on a single by Dylan Rorwick. A homer by Conner Hopper scored two more. Finn Barton later scored in the inning after a walk, wild pitch, ground out and an RBI ground out by Ben Broek.
The Trics added two in the third as Hopper singled and scored by a missile of a homer by Barton.
WC's final run was in the fourth. Lecuyer singled driving the ball off Lowe's glove. He later plated on an RBI hit by Barton to make it 7-3.
Game 2 is scheduled for Wednesday August 13 at 9 p.m. in Manotick.
