Can Am wins Durk Sherman Classic

Can Am won the 74th Annual Durk Sherman Classic played over Labour Day weekend in Elkland, PA.

Can Am beat the New York Bombers 10-6 in the final game Sunday night. 

Kyle Ainslie and Brandon Sands pitched for Can Am in the event while the Bombers had Jordan Macdonald and Sisko Sabate on the slab.

The host Elkland Softball Association finished third. Their pitchers were Duane Weiler, Cohen Christener and Zack Winkworth.

Local teams participating were the Greenbush Generals who finished with one win and three losses and West Carleton Electric with one win and two losses. Thomas Maclean and Carley Shane threw for the Generals while Adam Rueckwald and Brad Porter pitched for the Electric.

Eleven teams participated in the event.
