Canada Games Men's Softball starts Tuesday

The Canada Summer Games are currently being held in St. John's, NL and are a multi-sport event including both women's and men's softball.

The 11-team women's event wrapped up today and British Columbia beat Ontario in the gold medal game. Alberta won bronze. Results here.

The men's softball event (U20 age level) starts on Tuesday August 19. There are nine teams, with each province except PEI represented. The teams play a full round robin, ending Friday, with playoff games on Saturday and gold medal game on Sunday August 24. Schedule here, with results also to be posted on this page.

Three local athletes are participating in men's softball - Conner Hopper of Fitzroy Harbour is with Team Ontario. Cade Kuehl of Shawville and Hunter Beauregard of Campbell's Bay are playing with Team Quebec.
