more from the ToC

Micksburg won this morning 4-0 over Hoffman's from Pennsylvannia. Corey Costello threw another mint game with twenty strikeouts, one walk and one ground ball out. So in his first two games he threw 14 innings, one perfect game, and one no-hitter.

Micksburg also beat the defending champions Elmira Cubs 3-0, with Costello again getting the win. Don’t have the details on this one, but the website says Corey had 13Ks and Joran Graham pitched the last inning in relief. TheTwins finished round robin play 3-1.

Team Easton defeat Tavistock 3-1 in a key win for them. Dan Konkle pitched well to Randy Peck who was behind the dish. Who knew DK was such a good drop ball pitcher? He had the dipper working well in this one. Easton went to 2-1 with a game remaining vs. Orr Park, Ohio who I don't believe have a strong team this year.

Stittsville went to 1-2 with a 7-3 loss to a to team fromMichigan. Dan Bradley and Kyle Jamieson saw action on the slab in this one. They have one game left against Elora.

WC Electric finished winless, ending the round robin on the wrong end of a 15-2 beating by Bakersfield, California. The California Raisins (as we affectionately called them) pounded out 17 hits over 5 innings against 4 different Trix pitchers (Brad Porter, Mark Wright, Bud Hanlon and Troy Wilson). WC only managed one hit by Michael Cavanagh.
