Easton 3 WC Electric 1 in pre-ToC exhibition
Team Easton defeated WC Electric 3-1 in an exhibition game in Stittsville on Thursday night.
Dan Konkle had the pitching win throwing 7 innings, allowing one run on four hits, striking out 15. Bud Hanlon took the loss throwing 4 innings, allowing two runs on five hits, striking out five. Brad Porter finished the final two innings, allowing one run on three hits, striking out three.
Dave Tubman scored for Easton in first after doubling to lead off the inning, advancing to third on a passed ball and scoring at home on a passed ball.
In the fourth, Dan Jessiman singled, was sacrificed to second and scored on a Dan Konkle RBI single for the second Easton run.
Fitzroy scored in the top of the fifth when Steve Cavanagh hit a single and scored all the way from first on a Steve Johnson RBI double to the gap.
Easton rounded out the scoring in the bottom of the fifth when Scott Herriott hit a single, stole second then scored on a Todd Fraser RBI single to left.
Both teams play their first games on Sunday at the ToC. Team Easton faces the Toronto Indians at 2PM on a game to be broadcast over Internet radio at http://www.ballparkradio.com. WC Electric faces Thomson, Illinois Merchants in their first game at 7:30PM.
