Canada Day fastball in Kenmore

The Canada Day Celebrations in downtown Kenmore will feature a GOFL league game. Move info on TC's Blog, or see the article below from the Ottawa South Weekender:

by Josh Cohen
If you have never seen a men's fastball game, Kenmore Bi-Centennial Park will be the place to be on Canada Day. Kenmore Minor Ball and the Kenmore Recreation Association will be hosting an afternoon game between the Greely DNTW Eagles and Ottawa Team Easton.

Team Easton will have in their line-up two-time National Softball Team Canada member Randy Peck, along with one of the top pitchers in the game, Dan Conklin (close enough).

Before the main attraction begins, two other games will begin at 2:30 p.m. On diamond one, the Kenmore Heat mite boys (aged 9-10) will be facing off against the Orleans Select Rebels.

On diamond two, the Girls Squirt division (aged 11-12) will feature a home town battle between the two Kenmore Teams.

After the ball games, the park will be filled with activities such as a bouncy castle, face painting booth, and tonnes of games.

There will be a wide variety of local talent performing on the stage during the evening to also entertain until the fireworks at dusk. There will also be a pig roast and a canteen on site.
