Easton 4 Stittsville 0

from Cory Morrison

Two of the GOFL's premier hurlers engaged in a pitching duel last night at the Grove in Stittsville with Easton prevailing 4-0.

The game was scoreless until the 3rd inning when Kevin Chevrier and Randy Peck both reached on errors. Lukas Kamps then hit one right back to the mound which Dan Bradley promptly fielded and threw home to get Chevier racing in from 3rd. Scott Marion then walked to loaded the bases which was followed by a Pat O'connor single to score two and put Easton up 2-0.

Stittsville threatened in the fifth as Dan Bradley hit a one out triple off the top of the fence in centrefield but Konkle was able to retire the next two batters to leave Bradley stranded at 3rd base.

Easton added to their lead in the 6th as Cory Morrison singled then got to second on a wild pitch. After Randy Peck popped out to second Lukas Kamps singled to score Morrison.

Dan Konkle added some insurance in the 7th with his 1st homerun of the year to cap the scoring at 4-0. The game was played in appox 90 minutes.
