WC Electric wins in Greely

The Fitzroy Harbour West Carleton Electric defeated the Eagles 7-0 in their first trip to Andy Shields Park in Greely.

Bud Hanlon got the win, working five innings while Brad Porter finished in relief to preserve the shutout. Shannon Borho was tagged with the loss, working into the sixth inning and Ryan Cox saw action in relief.

The game was scoreless through three until West Carleton scored one in the top of the fourth. Steve Cavanagh singled with one out and was moved to second on a Neil Murphy sac bunt. Jason Armstrong then punched out a single to score Cavanagh and put the Electric up 1-0.

Fitzroy scored a pair of runs in the sixth. Mike Cavanagh led things off with a single and was scored by a Shawn Rebertz double. Steve Cavanagh then drove Rebertz, chasing Borho from the game. Cox managed to get out of the inning without further damage.

The Electric scored four in the final inning to finish the scoring, all with two outs. Mike Cavanagh hit a single and Rebertz hit another double. Both were scored on a Steve Cavanagh single. Neil Murphy then reached on a walk. On a misplayed ball in the infield, Jason Armstrong reached base and Steve Cavanagh scored. Then Troy Wilson singled to score Murphy.
