Trend Arlington League update

from Wynn Fenwick

The 2008 Trend-Arlington Men's Fastball League's 32nd season is well underway.

After winning it all last year, Duguay Sports is out of the gate quickly, wining three of their first four games with father-son battery of Pierre and Benoit Boivin complementing a solid offense that is averaging 8 runs per game.

Chris "Maverick" Kingsbury and Art Henry are back again throwing Lone Star right on Duguay's heels. Lone Star is bulldozing the league's pitching with 47 runs in the first four games.

Giant Carpet is sporting the league's newest pitcher Jacques "Coco" Maxwell and is leading the league in team defense and a great mix of youth and experience.

Leading the league in heart and young pitching is John Flood's Team Laurek Canada. With two new pitchers under the tutelage of Fred Welling and three father-son pairs look for Laurek to challenge this season.

The venerable PJ Quigley's bunch is together again with pitcher Kevin Wilson backstopped by Dean McDonald, and one of the league's rangiest outfields. Watch for PJ's bats to get untracked after a sleepy start.

TAMFL welcomes several new players this season:

Marc Dore
James Nicol
Jason Wiseman
Mark Spinks
Matthew Pollesel
Chris Jelley
Dan Miville
Johnny Paolozzi

We're always welcoming new players. If you want to see what we're up to, stop by Trend-Arlington Field, just off Greenbank and Bellman near West Hunt Club. If you're interested in trying us out, contact Wynn Fenwick Convenor Committee Chair at info@tafastball.ca.
