ISC II Qualifier in McNab - rules and other info

Rules for the ISC II Qualifier in McNab this weekend are below.

Full schedule and directions posted below.

Note: Carp I4C Victory has already won a berth at the qualifier last weekend in Oswego, NY. If Carp wins the McNab tournament, the second place team will receive the berth to the ToC in Wisconsin, but Carp will receive the "travel money" awarded at this tournament.

1. Rules of play will be those in the current rule book of Softball Canada with the exception that we will use the ISC pitching rule and the ISC (ISF) eligible bat list. Note that this is different from the SC/ASA bat list.

2. The tournament format will be double knockout.

3. If a game cannot be completed due to weather or other factors, it will be resumed from the point of stoppage.

4. The mercy rule is 7 runs after 4.5 innings and is in effect in ALL games.

5. Team lineups must be completed and handed in to the game controllers prior to the start of the game. At that time, you will receive a game ball for warm-ups.

6. A coin toss will determine home team, which will take the 3rd base bench, unless the visiting team is already on that bench from the previous game.

7. The International Tie-Breaker Rule will apply in all games except the final game(s). The tie-breaker rule will be in effect from the start of the 8th inning and the ITB runner will be the batter who is scheduled to hit 9th in the inning.

8. The 2-out catcher replacement runner is NOT in effect.

9. We ask that teams dress in contrasting colour jerseys to make the game more visually appealing for fans.

10. Protests on the interpretation of the playing rules only will be considered. A protest must be made at the time of the incident - before the next pitch is delivered. Protests will be decided by the UIC.

11. No infield practice will be permitted prior to games.

12. The official schedule shall be the posted bracket board.

13. Alcoholic beverages are only permitted during designated time in the beer garden area. Teams that tail-gate may be disqualified from the tournament.
