Quyon wins both in doubleheader vs. I4C on Tuesday

Quyon snags two wins in their double-dip vs. Carp
Game 1 - Quyon 5 Carp 2
JJ was wrong yet again, as they were calling for thunderstorms on the night of a Quyon home game (for a change). In the first match, Drew Hathway got the nod for Quyon, while Carp countered with Trevor Wood.
Quyon got out of the first inning unscathed and put the bats to work right away in the bottom half of the inning. Matt Greer led off with a walk. After the next two batters were retired, big Joe "wheels" McCleary stroked a two-out, two-run homerun to deep right field with the first pitch he saw.
The Flyers were back at it again in the bottom of the third inning. Joran Graham led off the inning, reaching first base on an error charged to the shortstop. He then advanced to second on a Wheels McCleary single to centerfield, and promptly took third when the ball was misplayed. With the Carp centerfielder hesitating to bring the ball in, Graham made a dash for home, just beating out the throw. Wheels was subsequently thrown out trying to take third.
Quyon would add two more runs to take a 5-0 lead before the Carp bats finally woke up and got to Hathway.
In the top half of the sixth the I4C sticks came alive, producing two runs on three hard hit balls. Shawn Simzer started things off with his second hit of the night, and would later score on an Eric Colvin RBI single. Colvin would come across the plate as Carp's second run with a single from Ben Gigliotti. Eric Rosenquist hit a ball to the gap in right-center and had extra bases written all over it. Steve "Toad" McCord tracked it down and made a stellar diving catch to kill any I4C momentum and end the inning. Hathway would then proceed to strike out the side in the seventh to preserve the victory.
Game 2 - Quyon 7 Carp 0
The second half of the doubleheader saw Quyon turn to their Ontario Import, Joran Graham. Bill Gerber got the nod for Carp and hurled all five innings.
In the first inning for Carp, Ben Gigliotti led things off with a walk. After retiring the next batter, Graham got Kevin McGuire to hit a soft pop-up to second base, and Quyon in turn doubled off Gigliotti to end the top half of the inning. In the bottom half of the first, the Flyers got right back on the sticks, opening up the scoring with one run. With the bases loaded Toad McCord hit a soft dribbler towards third base, and the only play on the ball was to go to one, allowing Luke Young to score.
Quyon got right back at it in the third inning. Shawn Laframboise led off with a bloop single over first base. Ben Younge followed that up with a beautiful sacrifice bunt, however the Carp third baseman elected to go to second, and Laframboise beat out the throw. Laframboise advanced to third on a pass ball. With runners on the corners, Matt Greer grounded to third base, advancing Younge to second. Wheels McCleary then knocked in two runs with a single of his own.
In the bottom half of the fifth, Wheels hit a grounder to shortstop and was able to reach safely on the error. He would later score on a Steve McCord single to centerfield. With two men on and no out, Nick "Albert" Armitage came to the plate. After a short battle, Albert smashed a no-doubter to straight-away centerfield to give Quyon the walk-off 7-0 mercy. Graham would finish the game with a no-hitter through 5, walking two, and one runner reaching on an error to the Quyon shortstop.
