Taping & Painting crew stays alive
from the Cornwall Standard-Freeholder
A three-run home run by Randy O'Neill highlighted a five-run fourth inning as O'Neill Taping & Painting whipped Navy Club 11-2 in the Cornwall and District Men's Fastball League finals.
Navy Club still leads the best-of-five series 2-1.
Darryl Beck and Mike Abitong each ripped solo home runs. Abitong and Lorne Taillon scored three runs each. Robyn Abitong, Robert Brodie and Brian O'Neill also scored. Darryl Abitong chipped in with two RBI.
Randy O'Neill picked up the complete-game victory, striking out seven.
Shawn O'Neill had a solid night at the plate for Navy Club, going 3-3 and scoring once. Randy McGillis ripped a two-run double to score Chris Lalonde.
Chris Nichol suffered the loss in front of over 100 fans.
Game 4 is tonight at King George Park (6:30 p. m).
