Carp I4C Victory defeats Greely Eagles 3-0 UPDATE

Word is that I4C won in Greely Monday night 3-0, with Dan Konkle taking the win and Shannon Borho the loss with relief from Gordie Flannery.

More sources tell me that Konks had 18Ks, no-hitter with 2 walks.

UPDATE
Details via GOFL.ca - Trevor Wood's report

The Victory travelled to Greely on a cool Monday night to take on the Eagles. Dan Konkle started for Carp, and Shannon Borho replied for Greely.

Carp started the first inning with two consecutive walks to Eric Colvin and Tim Power. Dan Konkle singled in the inning and Aaron Amo brought Colvin to the plate on a fielders choice to put the Victory up 1-0.

A walk to Shannon Borho in the Eagles half of the first was surrounded by 3 strikeouts as Konkle struck out the side.

Borho continued to pitch well, taking down 9 of the next 10 Carp batters in order until the 5th inning when a leadoff double by newcomer Todd Storm followed by an RBI double from Al Read put the Victory up 2-0. Tim Power scored Al Read with a Sac fly and the inning ended with Carp up 3-0.

Dan Konkle threw a no-hitter for Carp, striking out 18 Greely batters and walking 2. Shannon Borho surrendered just 3 hits and gave up 5 walks over 6 innings. Gord Flannery came in the game in the 7th and retired the three Carp batters in order.

Did the parting with Easton drive Konks to a new level? I certainly hope not!
