Easton hands Stittsville their first loss
from Cory Morrison
Easton handed Stittsville their first loss of the season with a 2-1 victory at the Grove on Wednesday night.
Brad Porter got the win while Dan Bradley took the loss.
Stittsville opened the scoring in the top of the 3rd as Dan Jessiman walked then advanced to 3rd on a Ryan Bond bloop single to right. Darren Featherstone's sac fly to right scored Jessiman and Bond took second on the throw home. Porter was able to get out of the inning without anymore damage done.
Dan Bradley cruised through the first 5 innings then in the 6th Lukas Kamps lofted a ball to the right-center gap. As the Stittsville right fielder looked as though he might have a play on it, Darren Featherstone who was playing center came sliding out of nowhere and appeared to come up with the ball. However, the umps ruled "no catch" and Kamps stood at second with a double. Two batters later Dave Tubman homered to right to give Easton a 2-1 lead.
The 56er's loaded the bases in their half of the 7th by virtue of two walks and an infield single but Porter got John Craig to fly out to right to end the game.
