The Grafton tourney

Some thoughts on Grafton / Jim Bradford Classic

- Beautiful weather all weekend

- 17 teams was great - good mix of intermediate, midget and junior teams from across Ontario and Quebec on hand. Too bad the ladies tourney was a no go this year, I know some of our players were disappointed.

- Too bad the 18th team that signed up didn't bother to show or contact organizers as the Hamilton Hawks were nowhere to be seen

- Four game guarantee is nice, especially as a tune up for the qualifier. Unfortunately with only the division winners moving on the semis, this can mean several meaningless games. Organizer did mention a possible format change for 2010.

- The peameal bacon on a bun at the snack shack is really tasty. Too bad the wait for grub was around 45 minutes!

- Nice complex they have there with four diamonds. In some cases the infields could use a bit of work, but certainly lots of ball to watch in one spot which is great.

- The officiating I thought was good all weekend. Yes, even you Dave.

- A good job organizing by Steve Bedard - looking forward to the 20th edition of the tourney next year.
