Update on Orleans Rebels at Women's Nationals
from Scott Searle
The Orleans Rebels are off to a great start at the Senior Nationals with a 4-2 record in the round robin and a chance at 1st place overall for the Playoff Round.
The team started slowly with a 3-0 to the Whitby Eagles, but won a critical game 3-2 against the Calahoo Extreme (Alberta 1).
Thursday presented a great challenge for the young Rebels as they faced the Defending Champion Manitoba Smittys and 2009 favourite, Host Kitchener Krush. The team knocked off the Smittys 3-2 but fell to the Krush 3-0 in the night cap.
The Rebels had a chance at 2 lives in the Playoff round with 2 wins on Friday and came through in spades with a 3-0 victory over Port Perry and a dramatic 4-3 victory over the Calgary Ice.
Play resumes tomorrow morning.
