Barrhaven beats WC Electric 9-2
The Barrhaven Broadway Blues defeated West Carleton Electric in game one of the doubleheader on Wednesday night in Manotick despite a depleted roster.
Paul Ceppi threw well to earn the win, while Steve Cavanagh took the loss in the sixth inning mercy rule shortened game.
The triple Bs started off quickly scoring three in the first on back to back doubles by Steve Edgerton and Trevor Power, followed by a 2-run shot by wily veteran Donny Cox.
WC got back in the game with a pair in the top of the third. Jon Daley reached on a an error, Beef Johnson doubled and both were brought in by a 2RBI single off the bat of Derek Barber in his 'Trics debut.
Barrhaven's continued to pound the ball in the fourth, scoring two. First run was on a solo shot by Power. Then an RBI single by Trevor Lahey drove in Cox who had singled and stole second base.
The Blues put two more across in the fifth, with Joe Allan singling, then being driven in on Power's second home run of the night.
Barrhaven finished off the game in the sixth on Allan's two RBI triple, plating Lahey who had walked and Ceppi who reached on an error.
