GOFL Week 12 preview

This was supposed to be the twelfth and final week of the Greater Ottawa Fastball League season, but it turns out we will still have three make up games played in "Week 13" before the playoffs start.

Up this week are five make up games, starting off with a game on Monday at 8pm between the Kars Aces (10-4) and the Stittsville 56ers (4-11-1). This game will be played at the Carp Fairgrounds since the Grove was unavailable.

On Wednesday in Manotick the doubleheader will feature Kars at Barrhaven Broadway Blues (7-7-3) at 7pm, and Stittsville at the Ottawa Blitz (6-9-2) at 9pm. After this night, the regular season will be completed for Barrhaven, Stittsville and the Blitzos.

Thursday night in Carp will be a doubleheader at 7pm and 9pm between Quebec Combat Flyers (11-0-3) and Carp I4C Victory (6-9). Quyon will actually be the "home team" in the second game of the night.

Week 13 will feature the three games needed to be completed before the playoffs start, with Fitzroy Harbour West Carleton Electric (6-10-1) against Carp I4C Victory and a doubleheader between Kars Aces and Quyon Flyers. The games will very likely all mean something in the final standings. All games are in the process of being scheduled.

Playoffs will start the week of August 8 and the teams will have five weeks to get in their best-of-five playoff series before the "Final Weekend Showdown" tournament on September 9-10 in Quyon.
