Softball Canada job available

Softball Canada seeks Full-Time (One Year Materity Leave) Contract Position (Starting July 2012) For Manager - Domestic Programs




OTTAWA, ON - Softball Canada, the national sport governing body for Fast Pitch, Slo-Pitch and Orthodox softball is seeking a dynamic individual to fill a one year maternity leave position where the individual will assist in the continued development and roll-out of a variety of programming areas. This is a full-time position working with and reporting to Softball Canada’s CEO and Board of Directors.



Key areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:



Assisting in the continued development and roll-out of the following programs:

Learn to Play program

CANpitch program

Player Development program

SAFE Star program

Other programs as developed

Providing administrative support and assistance to the Player Development, Learn To Play and CANpitch committees and working groups

Providing day-to-day office administrative activities, including reception, mail and shipping and processing of resource orders

Other duties as assigned

The successful candidate will ideally possess:



A post secondary degree in sport administration, or equivalent area of study/experience

Proven administrative skills managing a variety of projects

Familiarity with Long-Term Player Development principles and delivery of associated programming

Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office 2007)

Outstanding communication skills (written and verbal). Bilingualism (English/French) is strongly valued in this position

Experience working with volunteers and boards

Knowledge of softball is an asset

This position is based in the Softball Canada office in Ottawa, ON and is supported by Sport Canada.
