56ers over Twins 10-4 - with details

Info from Johnny Craig

Stittsville 56ers handed the Micksburg Twins their first loss of the season in GOFL play at the Grove last night. Dan Konkle got the win, with relief from Dan Bradley and Trevor Scott as home side won 10-4. Joran Graham took the loss and had relief from Ryan Clarke.

Stittsville got on the board in the bottom of the first as Tyler Nystedt was hit by a pitch and scored on Dan Jessiman's homer to right put the 56ers up 2-0.

In the bottom of the third, back to back doubles by Ryan Bond and Nystedt scored a run. Konkle reached first on an fielder's choice, and Bond advanced to third. DK showed the wheels and stole second, scoring along with Bondo when Trevor Scott hit his second single of the night to put Stittsville up 5-0.

Micksburg got on the board in the fourth. Jamey Mick walked and Nick Eckford hit a two run homer to right field to make it 5-2.
But Stittsville responded in the bottom of the inning as Bond singled, Nystedt reaches first on FC and they both score on a Dan Jessiman double to make it 7-2.

Konkle had a good start over the first four innings, giving only one walk, two hits and striking out eight. But in the top of the fifth, Micksburg threatened as they loaded the bases on walks. When Konkle experienced some issues with his arm, he was replaced by Dan Bradley. Ryan Clarke then ripped Bradley's first pitch for a double to score two. The 56ers got out of the inning and it was now 7-4.

Graham had 10 strikeouts in four innings of work, but Clarke came into pitch for the fifth inning for the Twins. Scott hit his third single of the night, John Craig walked and Dan Bradley singled to load the bases. Mike Barrett's 3RBI single capped the scoring at 10-4.

Trevor Scott finished the game pitching for Stittsville.

For his standout night at the plate, Dan Jessiman is the Caveman's choice, with a homer, a double and four RBIs.
Other Stittsville hitters:
Bond – Single, Double, 2R
Nystedt - Double, 1 RBI, 3R
Scott – 3 for 3 (singles), 1R
