Barrhaven, Blitz win in Manotick
The Stittsville 56ers dropped both games in a doubleheader in Manotick in GOFL action on Wednesday night.

Trevor Lahey had the win in this six inning mercy-rule shortened game, while Dan Konkle took the loss with an inning of relief from Trevor Scott.
In the first inning, Joe Allen hit a single and advanced to third on an error, scoring on a Lahey single to give Barrhaven a 1-0 lead.
John Craig of the 56ers then hit a HR to left to tie the game at 1.
Allen hit a double to lead off bottom of the third and scored on Trevor Power single, 2-1 for the Blues.
Craig then hit a second HR again to left, to make it tied 2-2.
In the bottom of the fifth, Allen single (his 3rd hit of the night), Lindsay Medynski walked and Power hit a 3 run shot to right. Kevin Schonfield then reached base on a hit and ended up taking home on a passed ball to make it 6-2.
To end the game in the sixth, with Trevor Scott info the starter Konkle, Kevin Williams singles, Allen reached on a fielders choice and singles by Medynski, Power, Tony Macdonald, and Schonfield scored three for a final score of 9-2.
For his big night at the plate, Trevor Power claims the Caveman's Choice award as player of the game.

Derick Bulley got the win in relief in this game that had many lead changes. Jamie Blakely started for the Blitz and Shannon Borho saw action in relief as well. Darren Featherstone went the distance for Stittsville.
In the bottom of the first Matt Bowman singled, Bulley tripled and Tony Searle hit a HR to make it 3-0 for the Blitz.
The second saw Jeremy Regan single and scores on Bowman single and put the Blitz up by 4. Stittsville responded in the top of three, with a Darren Ladouceur walk, scoring later on John Craig double. Craig scored on a Scott Herriot single to make the game 4-2.
In the next inning, Scott Jessiman walked and scored on a Tim Maisonneuve single - 4-3 Blitz.
In the bottom of this frame, Derek Bergeron doubled, Mondoux singled to score him, and Bowman hit a two run shot to right to make it 7-3 for the home team.
In the top of the fifth, Borho came in to relieve starter Blakely. Stittsville got the based loaded with none out on a Craig walk, Herriot single and Featherstone walk. Borho induced a double play that scored one, and that was it as the score moved to 7-4.
The 56ers' bats woke up for a two out rally in the sixth. Scott Jessiman singled, then Tyler Nystedt singled. Craig singled to score Jessiman, and Herriot triples scoring two. Featherstone reaches first on an error where Herriot also scores. Singles by Ben Gigliotti and Trevor Scott score one more to put 5 on the board, 9-7 for the visitors.
The Blitzos came back for the win in the bottom of the seventh. Singles by Searle, Derek Martin, and then a single by Regan scores two to tie the game. Russ Mitchell singles for the walk off to score Relan, game over. 10-9.
Matt Bowman gets Caveman Choice for his productive night at the plate including a homer and four runs batted in.
