Carp wins 3-0 in Micksburg

info from Kerr Childerose and Eric Rosenquist

Carp I4C Victory travelled to Micksburg on Thursday night for a make up game against the Twins and came away with a 3-0 win.

Neil Cooke had the win, throwing a one-hitter and striking out 11. Joran Graham took the loss, allowing six hits and striking out 14.

Carp got their first run in the top of the 4th. Kevin McGuire took a leadoff walk. Al Read had a perfectly placed bunt and beat the throw - then the throw was high and went into right field. McGuire advanced to third, and came around to score when the ball bounced around in RF. Mike Money followed Read with a double to left-center but a good play kept Read at third. Graham then got a pair of Ks, walked Cooke to load them up, and induced pop up to third end the rally.

Cooke added two runs to the Carp lead in the sixth when he hit a two run shot to dead centre to make it 3-0.

The perfect game was broken up on a pinch-hit single up the middle with one out in the bottom of the 6th by Mike Moss of Micksburg.

Neil Cooke earns Caveman's Choice for player of the game for his night on the slab and at the plate.
