West Carleton Electric defeats Stittsville 8-1

West Carleton Electric defeated Stittsville 56ers 8-1 in Fitzroy Harbour on Tuesday night in GOFL action.

Andy Barber had the win for WC, while Darren Featherstone took the loss, with Adam Smith facing one batter in relief.

The Electric scored in the bottom of the first. Andy Barber doubled and scored on Jeff Cavanagh's single with two out.

The 56ers evened things in the second on Adam Smith's solo home run.

West Carleton sent eleven men to the plate and scored six runs in the fourth. Three Stittsville errors were a factor, as Dave Bahm, Trevor Barton and Derek Barber had RBIs.

The game ended in the bottom of the sixth when Derek Barber hit a solo homer to lead off the inning and bring the mercy rule into effect.

Andy Barber received honours as Caveman's Choice for player of the game for the three hitter and scoring two runs in a winning effort.
