Safari Nordic wins Elkland Labour Day Durk Sherman Classic
Safari Nordic, led by pitcher Josh Johnson, won the Durk Sherman Classic this past weekend, going undefeated. Last year South Lebanon TNT won the event, with most of the same lineup playing as Safari this weekend.
Shaggy Dog, who had Gerald Muziellar and Rob Schweyer pitching finished second, with both of their losses to Safari.
Third place went to Blue Lake PA Power, who had Doug Hoffman and Doug Gillis throwing.
Four place was the Elkland Thunderbellys. Kyle Crawford, Ty McKinney and Brad Porter threw for ESA.
Fifth / sixth place finishers were Knoxville / Ontario - they had Jordan Macdonald, Cody Price and Lefty Clark as pitchers - and CPI who had Gregg Garrity.
The eastern Ontario teams did not fare too well this year. Greenbush Generals, West Carleton Electric and Carp I4C Victory all won their first games but lost the next two. Kanata Storm lost their first game, then won three (one by default), but lost their fourth of the tourney.
