Brockville wins opener at Midget Elims, loses second game

info from Matt McNish

Brockville won their first game at the Ontario Amateur Softball Association midget boys (U18) elimination tournament on Friday night in Tavistock, beating Elmira 9-8.

Brockville jumped out a 9-0 lead and then held on for the win. Carley Shane had the pitching win for Brock-Vegas while Jarod Wilson took the loss.

Next up was a Saturday 9 am game with Brockville facing Teeswater. Teeswater won 7-0.

It was a good game by both sides, and was much closer than the score would indicate. Tyler Randerson, who recently won Most Valuable Pitcher at the OASA Junior Eliminations was on the slab for Teeswater earning the win striking out 12 and allowing only two hits. Shane McNish took the loss.

Next game up for Brockville is at 3pm vs the winner if the Fullarton/Charing Cross game.

Winner's bracket has Port Perry & Napanee at 7pm and Teeswater vs the winner of the Tavistock/Chatsworth game.
