Ottawa Valley As win first GOFL game 8-2 over I4C Victory

The Ottawa Valley As posted their first win in the Greater Ottawa Fastball League on Wednesday night with an 8-2 win over I4C Victory in Manotick.

Todd Wilson got the win for the As going the distance in his second strong outing of the season. Matt McNish took the loss for I4C with relief from his son Shane.

OVAs scored two runs in the top of the first on a triple from Adam Rueckwald scoring Ian King and Lindsay Medynski. I4C tied the score in their half of the inning.

In the second inning OVAs scored four runs with the key hit coming from RF Ian King, a triple to right center, and good base running from Clayton Vance and brother Jackson Vance.

In the third Gavan Boyd singled up the middle with one out and scored on a Steve Frost RBI single.

Valley As scored their 8th run in the top of the sixth inning when pinch hitter Denis Hill got on to start. Shane Boyd had an infield single and RBI single by Medynski. Medynski also had some great plays in the field at third base during the game.
