Friday night at the Gil Read Memorial tournament
There were three games scheduled for the Gil Read Memorial tournament in Carp on Friday night. All three were started - but none were finished.
West Carleton Electric 7 Napanee Shoeless Joe's Express 4 (halted in the fourth)
Trevor Lahey was pitching for the Electric and Cole Bolton for Napanee when this one was stopped. It will resume at 8 am on Saturday morning.
Ottawa Broker4Tickets 1 Elkland Merchants 0 (halted in the third)
When this game was paused, Andrew Putnam had the ball for Broker while Brad Porter was throwing for Elkland. The plan is to finish this game on Sunday morning, time TBD.
Kingston Axemen 1 Kanata Storm 0 (halted in the seventh)
This one was right down to the wire when the rain started pounding and the game had to be suspended. Corey Costello was pitching for Kanata while Mitch Hardy had the ball for Kingston. When the game was stopped, it was the bottom of the seventh, Kanata had the bases loaded and two out, with Kyle Ezekiel at the plate. This one will be finished after the completion of Kingston's 1 pm game tomorrow.
