Micksburg wins game one over Valley As
The Micksburg Twins won the first game of their best-of-three series 9-1 over the Ottawa Valley As in Greater Ottawa Fastball League playoff action Monday night in Carp.

The Twins and A's finally got their first round series going
Monday night in Carp. Joran Graham for the start for the Twins and A's Adam
Rueckwald got the ball for their side.
Both teams were held off the scoreboard in the first two
innings, each having base runners stranded.
The Twins were able to get on the
board in the third after Connor Moss drew a two out walk then advanced on a
passed ball to second, The A's then decided to intentionally walk Jamey Mick to
bring up Joran Graham who then took the first pitch he saw and hit it on a
frozen rope to left centre landing in the second ball diamond and giving the
Twins a 3-0 lead.
The A's got one back in the bottom half of the third as
their lead off batter was able to reach third on a error and later scoring on a
sac. fly.
The Twins answered back in the top half of the fourth as Quinton Rook
reached on error, advanced to second on a stolen bag and then third on a sac.
bunt by Scott Conroy. Rook then scored on a Paul Griffith sac fly to
right.
Micksburg added to the lead in the fifth as Matt McIntyre
lead off with a double, then Moss hit a single over second followed by a 2 RBI double by Mick. The Twins were able to add a couple more runs in the inning
with RBI singles by Rook and Griffith. Micksburg retired the A's in
the bottom half of the fifth ending the game and giving them a 1-0 lead in the
series
