Quyon and Valley As tie at 9 - WITH DETAILS
The Ottawa Valley As and the Quyon Flyers tied 9-9 in a wild Greater Ottawa Fastball League game on the Quebec side on Thursday night.
Adam Rueckwald and Bryan Armstrong threw for Valley, while Matt Greer went the distance for Quyon, his third game in three nights for the Flyers.
Nick Armitage had two home runs for Quyon, Dave Baird hit a three run homer for Valley.

The Quyon Flyers and Ottawa Valley As played to a 9-9 draw last
night in Quyon. Matt Greer went the distance for the Flyers for the third
consecutive night while Adam Rueckwald went 5.1 innings with Bryan
Armstrong coming in to close it out for the visiting team.
Quyon opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning. Dennis
McCleary walked with one out and advanced with a walk to Greer. Joe
McCleary then reached on an error to the short stop to load the bases with two
out. Shawn Laframboise's hard grounder went off the glove of the second baseman
to score two and give the Flyers an early 2-0 lead.
The Flyers added to the lead in the second. David Hobbs hit a
one-out single and scored on Dennis McCleary's double.
The As answered back with one in the third. Kyle Couvieau led off
with a double and scored on Steve Frost's hit to the gap in
right-centre. Nick Armitage's solo homerun in the bottom half restored the
three run lead making it 4-1 for the home side.
Each team added a run in the fourth. Dave Baird led off with
a triple and scored on Rueckwald's sacrifice fly. Hobbs doubled and scored on
Greer's misplayed grounder to shortstop for the Flyers. 5-2 Quyon after 4.
The As bats woke up in the fifth and they took a one run lead.
Couvieau singled and Clayton Vance reached with a bunt when the catcher's throw
sailed into right field. After a groundout, Ben Wade and Lindsay Medynski
singled and Ryley Burns doubled home the fourth As run of the inning. Quyon
tied things back up at 6 with Armitage's second solo homer of the game.
The Flyers extended the lead to 9-6 in the sixth. Hobbs led off
with a deep homer to right-centre. After a groundout, Greer reached when
a fly ball was misplayed in right field and scored on Joe McCleary's line drive
homerun to straightaway centre.
Ottawa Valley score three in the seventh to tie things up at 9.
Wade singled and Burns walked to put two on with one out. Baird stroked one
over the centrefield fence to tie the game at 9. Quyon threatened in the bottom
half. Earl Kearns walked with one out and was thrown out by Wade after
trying to go first to third on Dave Hobbs base hit. Armstrong got a ground out
to second to end the game.
