Kars advances to GOFL Final with win over Quyon

The Kars Aces won 8-1 over the Quyon Flyers in the Greater Ottawa Fastball League Final Four playoffs undefeated game on Tuesday night in Quyon. Six different Aces hit homers in the game.

Brad Porter was the winning pitcher. Trevor Lahey took the loss and had relief from Matt Greer.

Kars got out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the second inning. Kristian Knapp doubled and scored on Cory Morrison's double. Danny Powers homered to score Morrison.

Brad Pender hit a solo homer in the top of third to make it 4-0 for the Aces.

Quyon replied in the bottom of the third with a solo home run from Nick Armitage.

The Aces scored four runs on the top of the fifth on four solo home runs by Nick Ellis, Ian King, Kristian Knapp and Matt Alkerton.

With the run rule in effect, the Flyers went down in order in the bottom of the fifth.

Kars advances to the playoff final which they will host. Quyon will host West Carleton Electric in the semi-final on a date to be determined.
