WC finishes 5th at U20 Elims

West Carleton Electric finished tied for fifth at the Ontario Amateur Softball Association Elimination tournament on the weekend in Cobourg after losing 9-2 to Plattsville Lightning on Sunday morning. Noah Fleurie took the loss and had relief from Ryland Hill.

WC's two losses were to gold medalists Rostock Braves and the Lightning who got silver.

Those top two teams will join host West Carleton at the U20 Canadian Championship in August in Carp, along with defending champions Napanee Express who finished tied with WC in fifth.

New Hamburg Mustangs were third and Chatsworth Longhorns fourth. Kaladar Kings finished tied for seventh. Thirteen teams participated at the event.

Brad Barker of Rostock was named Top Pitcher and Sam Diamond of Plattsville was named Most Valuable Player.
