from Shawn Laframboise
The Quyon Jr Flyers beat the Shawville Athletics 4 - 2 in UOVMFL play Wednesday night. The Flyers finish out their affiliate season with a 2 - 1 record. John Storie got the start for the A's and Luke "Hammer" Young started for the Flyers.
Young went four innings giving up only 1 run on a Darren Barr hit down the third baseline, scoring Jeff Tanguay.

In the bottom of the fourth the Flyers added some insurance with Steve McCord hitting a high fly ball to center field that came down a couple feet before the fence, but hit Barr's glove and went over for the run on the 4-base error. McCleary added his second home run of the night to increase the lead to 3 - 1.
Young was then relieved in the fifth by Ryan Cox in his Flyers debut. He was welcomed to the team with A's lead off hitter Luke Murphy taking RC's first pitch as a Flyer over the wall in right field.
The Flyers added their insurance run on a Shawn Laframboise sacrifice fly to deep left field, scoring Nick Armitage.
The Flyers will face Kanata Team Easton Thursday night in Quyon before they leave this weekend for the Junior Men's Canadian Fastpitch Championships in St. Léonard d'Aston, Québec.
The Athletics will face the Pontiac Royals on August 8th in the first game of round one of the playoffs. Game 2 will be held on Friday August 11th in Campbell's Bay.
