Showcase results

Gosh it was hot.

Results of the three games played in Fitzroy Harbour on Sunday afternoon:

Stittsville 4 Team Easton 1

Darren Featherstone threw a complete game 4 hitter to get the 4-1 victory as Team Easton suffered their first loss of the GOFL season.

Kyle Olson threw well despite taking the loss, allowing only 6 hits and 3 earned runs.

Dan Jessiman's three run homer in the third was the turning point of the game. Stittsville also scored a run in the fifth, while leaving the bases loaded.

Team Easton scored their only run of the game in the seventh as Kyle Olson scored on Dave Tubman double.

With the win, Stittsville vaulted into second place in the league, while Team Easton held onto first.

I4C Victory got their third victory of the season, defeating Lomor 4-2 on Sunday.

Neil Cooke had the complete game victory, scattering four hits, striking out 13 and allowing only one earned run.

Lyle Schell threw for Lomor, allowing seven hits and three earned runs.

Shawville Athletics 0 Fitzroy Harbour 0

In the final game of the afternoon, Shawville and Fitzroy Harbour finished in a scoreless tie.

Todd Hearty threw a very strong game for Shawville, throwing a complete game one hitter, allowing only two walks.

Fitzroy used three pitchers in the game, as Bud Hanlon threw two innings, Steve Cavanagh threw three innings and Jason Armstrong finished the final two, combinging to allow only two hits.

This game counted in the UOVMFL standings as part of the interlock with WC Electric.
