Team Easton over WC Electric 2-0
Team Easton defeated WC Electric by a score of 2-0 in GOFL play on Tuesday night in Fitzroy.
A nice crowd was on hand to see Dan Konkle get the complete game shutout for Easton, scattering five hits, walking one, hitting one batter and striking out twelve.
Bud Hanlon got the start for WC Electric working five innings, allowing one earned run on three hits, two walks, and striking out six. Brad Porter finished the game for Fitzroy, allowing one run on three hits, and striking out two.
Scott Marion went 2 for 3 and scored both Team Easton runs and John Peck, a late arrival hitting in the ninth spot was 3 for 3 and had both RBIs. Cory Morrison had the other Easton hit.
WC Electric stranded seven runners, and could not get clutch hits to score runs. Michael Cavanagh was 2 for 3, Steve Johnson hit a double, Jon Daley had an infield single and Troy Wilson had a bunt single for the Electric. The closest the home team came to scoring was men on second and third with one out in the sixth, but Konkle struck out the last two batters to preserve the shut out.
