Twins over Quyon in UOVMFL action

Quyon played their first UOVMFL interlock game on Thursday night and lost to Micksburg Twins 2-0. Report from Kenny Fleck follows:

Thursday night in UOVMFL action had the affiliate Quyon Flyers taking on the undefeated Micksburg Twins. It was a low scoring affair with the Twins coming out on top with a 2-0 win. Corey Costello got the nod for the Twins pitching 7 innings giving up only two hits. Matt Greer threw for Quyon giving up one earned run.

The Twins came out hard hitting the ball very well but ended up making some mistakes on the bases. Flyers catcher Joe McCleary threw out 3 Twins base runners trying to steal. Micksburg's first run came off of an RBI single in the bottom of the first inning. The Twins weren't able to muster up much more offence until the 6th when they scored their second run of the game.

Quyon's next game is this Sunday evening in Fitzroy against the 'Trics at 5:00. The last time these 2 teams faced each other it ended in a 2-2 draw, should be a good game. Hope to see you there.
