Micksburg moves on to Final 8 at ToC
Micksburg Twins have moved on to the final 8 with big playoffs wins at the Tourney of Champions in Kitchener.
After finishing third in their pool (three teams tied at 3-1), the Twins defeated Thomson, Illinois last night at 9PM by a score of 4-2. Looks like this one went 9 innings and was won on a home run by Kevin Newhouse (pickup from Niagara). Thomson was a wildcard team after finishing 2-2 in the same pool as WC Electric.
Then today, the Twins defeated Alvinston, Ontario Indians by a score of 5-4. No details on the web yet. Alvinston came into that game undefeated.
Micksburg will now play Ashland, Ohio Merchants tonight. If they win, they play in a semifinal game at 11am tomorrow.

The Thompson, Ill game was a 4-2 final... 2 run homerun to dead centre by Kevin Newhouse in the 9th that looked like the CF might pull it down... but he crashed in the fence and ended up taking down about 3/4 of the homerun fence... very exciting game to watch...
Micksburg took out Ashland 2-0 tonight as well...
