Blitzos get three points on Wednesday night

The Ottawa Blitz took 3 of a possible 4 points on Wednesday night in Manotick, tying the Quyon Flyers 3-3 and defeating Manotick Printers 1-0. This moves the Blitz into a tie at 7th place with the Greely Eagles. The Eagles have the tie-breaker based on more wins - however the Blitz have two games left to get a point and avoid the sudden death 8th vs. 9th playoff game.

Note - the Blitz were supposed to play the Stittsville 56ers tonight (Thursday) but this game has been deferred until next week. Info to follow.

Game 1 - Quyon 3 vs Blitz 3

Quyon scored 1 run in the top of 3. Matt Greer hit a leadoff triple and was scored by Luke Young on a fielder's choice. The Blitz responded with 1 in the bottom of 3. Jamie Blakely reached base on a fielder's choice and was scored on consecutive singles by Tony Searle and Pierre Lalonde. Joe McCleary scored 1 run in each of the top of 4th and 5th for Quyon, putting them ahead 3-1. Pierre Lalonde and Ron Hrycak each scored for the Blitz in the bottom of the 6th. Darron Barr and Duane Bromley were each credited with RBI singles. The game ended in a 3-3 tie.
