Kars 5 Carp 4 - UPDATED

Kars held on for a 5-4 victory over Carp in GOFL action on Thursday evening. Corey Alkerton got the win while Dan Konkle took the loss with relief from Kyle Olson. Kars opened the scoring in their half of the 2nd as Cory Morrison homered to right. Carp responded by scoring two in in the bottom of the inning to take a 2-1 lead. The Aces regained the lead in the 4th by scoring four runs. Brad Pender reached base on an error then scored on Cory Morrison's double. Corey Alkerton followed that with a double of his own to plate Morrison and two batters later Scott Marion hit a moon shot over the center field fence to put Kars up 5-2. Carp added singles runs in the 6th and 7th and had the winning run on 2nd base with two outs in the 7th but Corey Alkerton was able to pitch out of the jam to give Kars the win.
