Blitz win two on Wednesday night - the details

Ottawa Taylor's Blitz 10 Quyon Combat Flyers 4
Game one of the Manotick double header featured the Quyon Flyers vs the Ottawa Taylor's Blitz. Matt Greer and Jamie Blakely took the slate for their respective clubs while both going the distance.
The top of the first inning saw Blakely strikeout the side getting the home team on the sticks quickly.
The Blitz took full advantage of their opportunities in their half of the inning pushing 7 runners across the plate. Marcel Mondoux started the game off with a walk and a stolen base. Blakely legged out an infield single followed by a stolen base of his own putting two in scoring position for Derick Bulley. A sac fly scored Mondoux giving the Blitz a quick lead. Tony Searle followed up getting on base by being hit by a pitch. After a second out, Russ Mitchell put a ball in play in the infield which was bobbled loading the bases. Ryan Mitts followed with a walk to score Blakely. Taiki Nishimura then laced a 2 run single into center field scoring Mitchell and Mitts. Adam Grier, Mondoux and Blakely continued the 2 out rally with RBI singles to go up 7-0.
The top of the second started with back to back to back singles by the Flyers (Nick Armitage, Steve McCord - RBI and Curtis Daley - RBI) scoring 2 runs in the frame. 7-2 Blitz.
In the bottom half of the inning, Andrew Bruce forced an infield error and stole second. After advancing to third, Mitts lined a ball to the outfield which was misplayed scoring Bruce for an 8-2 lead.
The Flyers chipped away in the fourth scoring 2 more runs. Daley led the inning off with a single and was sacrified over to second base. Tim Craig came up with a two out single to score Daley and was then scored on a double by Dennis McCleary. 8-4 Blitz.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, the Blitz added two more runs. Blakely led off with a walk and was scored on Bulley's double to the gap. Bulley then advanced to third and was scored on a Tony Searle sac fly. Final Score in favour of the Blitz 10-4.
Caveman's Choice for player of the game is Jamie Blakely for his complete game win and 3 for 3 performance at the plate.

Game 2 featuered the Stittsville 56er's to face the Blitz. This one was a see saw battle all the way with 19 runs scored for both sides. Trevor Scott and Derick Bulley started for their respective clubs.
The top of the first inning, the 56er's got rolling. After recording the first out, John Craig hit a double and advanced to third on a passed ball. Scott Herriot knocked him in on a single and advanced to second on a stolen base. Herriot reached third base on a passed ball and was scored on an infield error. Trevor Scott followed up with an RBI single to put the 56er's up 3-0.
Skip to the bottom of the second where the Blitz put 4 on the board. Bruce led off on a ROe and stole second. He was brought in by a Russ Mitchell shot to straight away center. After two outs, Grier reached on a ROE. Mondoux reached base with a single up the middle and both were scored on Blakely's triple. Blitz 4-3.
In the third, Herriot led off with a triple plus an outfield error to score himself. The 56er's put men on second and third with singles by Dan Jessiman and Scott. Bulley however, escaped the inning by getting the next two batters. Tie game at 4.
Searle led off the bottom half with a double and was scored on a single off the bat of Mitts. Blitz 5-4.
Top 5 saw Dan Jessiman put up a lone run on a solo homerun to left center field. Tie game at 5.
In the fifth, the Blitz bats sparked for 4 more runs. Searle led off with a single, Bruce walked and Mitchell reached on an infield single loading the bases. Mitts came clutch with a run single. Nishimura then bunted to two runners over 60 feet where Mondoux then put a ball in play and reached on a ROE that went in the dugout scoring the two on base. Blitz 9-4.
Stittsville stormed back with 5 runs in the top of the 6th to tie it once again. Blakely came in with two outs and was able to stop the bleeding.
In the sixth, the 56er's brought in Adam Smith to relieve Scott and with one out, Bruce walked and stole second. He was then cashed in by Mitts again to put the Blitz up by 1.
Blakely retired the 56er's in the seventh to record his second win of the night.
