The Barrhaven Broadway Blues dropped a close one in their opener at the St. John's Days Senior Men's fastpitch tournament in Newfoundland Friday night. Barrhaven lost 3-2 to Imagewear Custom Apparell, the second place team from the St. John's Senior League. The Blues scored two in the seventh and left men on second and third but couldn't come back. Jason Smith took the loss for the Blues.
In their second game, the Blues defeated Kelly's Pub Molson Bulldogs 4-1. Paul Ceppi had the win throwing a three hitter. Lindsay Medynski (2), Jeff Lane and Kevin Schonfield had the RBIs.
In their next game, for some reason, they had to play the Bulldogs again. This time they fell short 12-4. Trevor Lahey, Jason Smith and Paul Ceppi all threw for the Blues. Unfortunately the Barrhaven boys were eliminated after this game.
